Web Developers (other job titles include Web Programmer, Interactive Application Programmer and Flash/Flex Developer) provide assistance in developing and maintaining interactive web content as well as integrating interactive media on social media platforms.

This course is less suitable for students who do not possess the functional abilities indicated. If in doubt, please consult your school career guidance officer or visit ITE College for further academic advising.

They work with companies that create and use interactive web technology for customers, including design firms, advertising agencies, production companies, interactive developers, museums & galleries, government bodies, PR and marketing firms, financial and healthcare companies.

In their course of work, they are required to respond to customers’ telephone calls, emails as well as to attend meetings and make presentations.
They must listen attentively to customers’ requirements and work with his/her team to plan, analyze and code the interactive applications.

They normally work in offices. During different phases of the web applications development, they may also require commuting to perform site visits at customers’ premises.
